Nothing is worse than opening your mouth in the morning, yawning, and smelling the bad breath that comes out of your mouth. Wait, there is something worse than that: having bad breath all throughout the day. It can be extremely frustrating to take care of your hygiene needs thoroughly only to wind up having bad breath no matter what you do. Many people wonder why they have bad breath when they're brushing their teeth and using mouthwash. The truth is that there are many different things that can cause your mouth to become a breeding ground for noxious fumes. One mostly unknown thing is that fad diets that cause bad breath are often the culprit of morning breath that lasts all day long.
Most physicians will tell their patients that fad diets are to be avoided at all costs, but this is because they believe that being on these types of diets is bad for all of the systems in your body. Your body needs specific nutrients to allow you to function normally, and when you don't get these nutrients, you may be tired and feel rundown. One thing that many doctors don't tell you, however, is that fad diets that cause bad breath are the same diets that they tell you to avoid for medical reasons. There are a number of popular fad diets, including the low/no carb diet and diets that cause you to fast or not eat for a number of hours or days. Any diet that causes you to radically change your eating habits can cause you to get bad breath.
If you choose to go on the low carb diet, you will likely be eating much more protein than you did before. These diets say that it is fine to eat as much protein as you'd like, as long as you stay away from carbohydrates. When you're trying to obey this rule, you will find yourself hungry, and will be eating more protein than ever before. This may actually cause you to have bad breath. When you add more protein to your diet, you release a compound known as volatile sulfur compounds, or VSC's. These compounds reside in the back of the throat and tongue and can cause nasty smelling breath to occur.
Some diets ask you to fast for a specific amount of time. This means that you have less food in your body, which can, believe it or not, cause bad breath to occur. One way this happens is because you tend to have less saliva when you are fasting. This means that you do not have as much oxygen in your body which is the perfect nesting ground for bacteria to grow in, causing bad smelling breath.
The point is that fad diets will cause bad breath. The best way to lose weight is to do so by adjusting the amount of food you eat, and not by going on a fad diet.
